Toilet Documentaries: Composition

My father recently moved from Tokyo to Yokohama. Him and my aunt decided to place what they thought to be some much needed accessories into the new investment. Upon arrival, I instinctively knew the bathroom was a key component to the house (or maybe it was my bladder). So I dropped my bags and asked dad to point me to the direction of the restroom. As I walked through the doors of this dark enclosure, to my astonishment, I find a toilet seat blooming open as it illuminated the dim walls creating a halo like affect. It was almost as if this inanimate object knew I was there. As it turns out, it did know I was there, but it was not an omnipotent force. Rather it was Japanese ingenuity at its best.

Aside from its seemingly divine abilities it is also adept. Among the list of abilities is its adroitness in cleansing a specific area of the human anatomy (if you know what I mean). That's a more earthly ability but its equally as miraculous.

So naturally, I filmed clips commentating the amazing abilities of my toilet along with other house hold appliances. If you bother to watch all of them (sorry about the unsteady hand by the way) you'll get a sense of the day to day existence of someone who lives in Japan. I never envisioned making a blog, let alone posting it publicly. It was meant for friends and family but hey, I have some time to kill before I start work. So please view them with an open mind and more importantly, a sense of humor.

I hope you don't find my juxtaposition impious because that is not at all my intention. When writing this my objective was to comment on my adoration of Japanese acumen. I didn't think it was going to have a religious connotation. Maybe it was because of my previous blog, I don't know....but regardless, it was nice reminder of humanistic abilities.

P.S. Kudos to Patrick Jones for the title, 'Toilet Documentaries'
